Inspectors praised the curriculum saying; "leaders have designed a curriculum based securely on the latest educational research."

‘Pupils have many opportunities to develop their skills beyond the academic’ – Following our recent inspection, we're delighted to share the key headlines with you.

Oasis Academy Broadoak was inspected within the first couple of weeks into the new academic year and have achieved a ‘Good’ in every category, those categories being the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision.

Highlights from the report include:

  • “Pupils build their knowledge well over time.”
  • “Pupils feel safe and cared for in school.”
  • “Pupils make use of the spacious and well-resourced playgrounds. They play happily together.”
  • “Parents and carers would readily recommend Oasis Academy Broadoak to others.”
  • “Leaders are determined that all pupils learn to read well.”
  • “Teachers adapt their curriculum plans to meet the needs of pupils with SEND.”

Within the report, parents said they would highly recommend Oasis Academy Broadoak to others saying; “they appreciate how staff go out of their way to meet the needs of pupils and their families.”

Fiona Lomas, Principal at Oasis Academy Broadoak, commented on the report saying; “This extremely positive Ofsted report is nothing short of our Oasis Academy Broadoak family deserve. I am extremely grateful to our staff who are determined and dedicated to raising the aspirations and supporting the progress of every pupil, from our very youngest who join us at three right up to our 11-year-olds who leave us prepared for the next step of their educational journey.”

Looking at the school’s curriculum, Ofsted inspectors praised the academy for how it was designed on the latest educational research, saying; “their plans clearly set out the important knowledge and skills that pupils will learn in all subjects. Leaders have ensured that all staff have the expertise to teach the curriculum well.”

Helen Arya, Regional Director for the North West Primaries, added; “I am delighted that the efforts of the Principal and her amazing team have been recognised in this Ofsted inspection. The report highlights the excellent standard of education, care and opportunity provided for all the pupils. Everyone connected to Oasis Academy Broadoak should be very proud of the immensely positive impact that they are having on the lives of the young people each day.”

Within the report inspectors highlighted how well pupils read saying; “Pupils across the school read every day from a wide range of books. Leaders have recently introduced a new phonics programme. They have ensured that staff know how to deliver it. Children in the early years are quickly introduced to phonics sessions. Reception aged children take part enthusiastically.
